How to optimize GCE instance startup time?
I noticed that my instances are taking a bit long to start up. Are there any best practices for minimizing the image size or using specific boot disks to speed up the process?

Use custom images with pre-installed dependencies. It cuts down the startup time significantly!
Also, consider using smaller instance types if you do not need much compute during boot.
